Event Description
This summer the City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Relations offers two Kindergarten Readiness Workshops. Both workshops are designed for children entering Kindergarten and First Grade, and wil aid children in developing reading skills.
Children will progress with a series of handmade phonics books which begin with reinforcement of consonant and vowel sounds, then progress to blending sounds and finally, reading! Each four week workshop will include two classes per week held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Session dates for both workshops are 6/24 thru 7/17 and 7/22 thru 8/14.
Animal phonics will be offered at 10 am and Getting Ready to Read with Nursery Rhymes will be offered at 11 am. The cost of one session is $160, plus a non refundable $5 materials fee.
