Join us them as they exercise their brains doing Sudoku, a fun and addictive logic-based puzzle. We’ll also enjoy memory drills and skills using the UCSB Method (Understand, Create, Solve, Breathe). There is no charge for this class.
Israel Yaniv has recently arrived from Israel and wants to contribute his vast knowledge of solving and creating Sudoku. All levels invited.
About Sudoku
As we grow older, two of our main concerns are maintaining brain activity and eye-hand coordination. Sudoku is a logic-based number placement puzzle that helps exercise your brain! Solving the Sudoku provides great mental pleasure and stimulation.
The objective is to fill a 9×9 grid so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3×3 boxes contains the digits from 1 to 9. You start with a partially completed grid.
The class is built of various Sudoku levels:
Easy: 2 numbers, 4 squares 1x1, within 1 square, total of 4 squares.
Easy: 4 numbers, 4 squares 2x2, within 1 square, total of 16 squares.
Moderate: 6 numbers, 4 rectangles 3x2, within 1 rectangle, total 24 squares.
Today’s: 9 numbers, 9 squares 3x3, within 1 square, total 81 squares.
Today’s Sudokus are as well defined as “Easy”, “Moderate” or “Hard”
Build your own Sudoku: want to challenge friends or relatives with your own Sudoku? You'll get the tools you need to approach this.
