It now looks like the money has been pledged in time to buy a pristine chunk of land on the Central Coast to preserve it from development.
The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County has been trying to piece together $11.7 million dollars in funding to buy the Pismo Preserve.
The property is 900 acres of ranchland in the hills above Pismo Beach.
The conservancy was racing to meet an August 28th deadline to raise the money.
San Luis Obispo County had already contributed $1.1 million dollars towards the proposed purchase, but county supervisors approved an additional $400,000 so the Conservancy could meet its goal.
