Santa Barbara Woman Who Underwent Double Lung Transplant Climbing Tallest Mountain In North America

A Santa Barbara woman who’s been through an incredible health ordeal is celebrating her recovery in a big way.

We first told you about Courtney Ferriera’s story in 2011.  After being diagnosed with a rare, and fatal lung disease, her only hope for survival was a double lung transplant.

She underwent the procedure, and is doing well.

In fact, KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports she is doing so well that today she is climbing the tallest mountain in the continental United States.

Update 8/26 Tuesday:

Courtney Ferriera and her husband successfully made it to the top of the 14,000 mountain yesterday.  They were tired after 15 hours of hiking, but celebrated with burgers and beer after coming down from the mountain last night.
