Three Arrested In Connection With Foreclosure Fraud Investigation In Ventura, Orange Counties

Posted on Thursday, August 7, 2014 2:27pm

Three people have been arrested for what prosecutors call a fraudulent foreclosure rescue operation victimizing homeowners in Ventura County.

Investigators with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Real Estate Fraud Unit say an Orange County based company called Foreclosure Legal Services promised to buy financially troubled properties for less than what was owed, and then sell them back to the owners at reduced market values.  However, once homeowners signed up, prosecutors say the company then charged thousands in illegal fees.

The three people arrested include one Ventura County resident, identified as 57 year old Nelly Luz Rubiano of Ojai.  All three people are facing felony grand theft, and felony foreclosure consultant fraud charges.
