Ventura County Approves Plans For New Police Training Facility North Of Simi Valley

Ventura County has approved plans for a police department to build a training facility in a remote eastern part of the county, which will include space for everything from SWAT team training, to a shooting range.

The Simi Valley Police Department is going to build the facility in an unincorporated area of the county north of the 118 Freeway.

The two acre site is just northeast of the Simi Valley Landfill, and Recycling Center, off of Brea Canyon Road.

Police say the facility will allow them to conduct training in their backyard, instead of going to the time, and expense of traveling out of county to other available facilities.
