Ventura County Set To Offer CEO New Five Year Contract

Posted on Friday, July 25, 2014 12:47am

Ventura County Supervisors are set to offer the county’s CEO a new five year contract.

Mike Powers has been the county’s top non-elected official since 2011, overseeing a $1.7 billion dollar budget, and 8,000 employees.

After a performance review by supervisors, they are set to offer Powers a new contract which would take effect starting next month, and include a 7% pay hike.  County Supervisor Steve Bennett says the new contract recognizes the excellence performance by the CEO.

If approved as expected on Tuesday, it would take the CEO’s salary to $243,000 annually.  However, Powers has requested that the pay hike not take effect until increases for a number of other employee groups are set.
