The latest unemployment statistics show the jobless rate is down statewide, but the numbers aren’t as positive for the Central Coast.
California’s unemployment rate dipped from 7.6% in May, to 7.4% in June. That’s the lowest it’s been since the summer of 2008.
In Santa Barbara County, the jobless rate went from an even 5% in May, to 5.4% in June. In San Luis Obispo County, unemployment also increased month to month, from 5% in May, to 5.3% in June.
