Six people, including a firefighter are recovering from injuries they suffered in a Ventura house fire.

The blaze was discovered just after 11 last night, in a two story home on the 900 block of Burlington Avenue in Ventura.  Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting from the home, and reports there were people still inside.

With the help of bystanders, an elderly man was rescued, and removed from the house through a bedroom window.  The man was in cardiac arrest, but was resuscitated, and is reported to be in serious condition at a hospital.  The other injuries were reported to be minor.

The blaze caused more than $200,000 in damage.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
