Santa Barbara County University Gets Million Dollar Grant To Research, Improve Smart Phone Data Security

Could criminals exploit smart phones to access your personal information?

A Central Coast congresswoman announced that the National Science Foundation has awarded more than a million dollars to UC Santa Barbara researchers to try to tackle that issue.

Democratic Congresswoman Lois Capps of Santa Barbara says the money will be used by the UCSB Computer Science Department to look at possible holes in smart phone safety technology.  The department is internationally known for its research to help improve computer security.
