A commission which oversees Ventura County managed health care efforts says it will investigate allegations of mismanagement.
The Ventura County Medi-Cal Managed Care Commission says it will set up a three person committee to look at charges of mistreatment of employees, racism, and possible funding irregularities by the Gold Coast Health Plan. The allegations were made by a social advocacy group, the League of United Latin American Citizens in Ventura County.
Gold Coast officials denied the allegations. The agency runs managed health care services for more than 150,000 Medi-Cal recipients in Ventura County.
