Santa Barbara County Supervisors have cleared the last hurdles for what’s billed as an affordable senior housing project in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Supervisors this week approved zoning changes, and a lot split for the 150 unit complex planned for the northeast corner of Highway 246, and Refugio Road. The non-profit Rona Barrett Foundation is working with the Housing Authority of Santa Barbara County to build the facility. The Golden Inn & Village will have assisted, and independent living units, as well as a community center, and 24 hour staffing.
Plans call for the project to open in 2016, with the first phase of work costing around $30 million dollars.
