Whooping Cough Reaches Epidemic Levels In California; More Than 100 Cases Reported In Tri-Counties

California is being hit by an outbreak of a highly contagious bacterial disease which has reached epidemic proportions.

More than 3400 cases of whooping cough have been diagnosed in the state, including more than 100 cases in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco says local health officials are trying to get the word out about making sure you, and your family are protected through vaccinations.
