Ventura County Supervisors are holding hearings today on a proposed $1.88 billion dollar budget for the upcoming fiscal year,
The balanced spending plan includes slight increases for public safety, health care, and social services.
There are no job cuts in the proposal. In fact, there’s a slight increase in the number of positions.
The plan would also increase the county’s reserves.
Supervisors are holding one public hearing at 1:30 p.m., and a second is taking place at 6 tonight to hear from various county departments about the spending proposal.
