The Simi Valley School Board tonight will once again take on the controversy over whether to close one of its schools.
After serious safety problems were found at Simi Elementary School early this year, the students, faculty, and staff were moved to Mountain View Elementary School for the remainder of the school year.
The financially squeezed school district at first decided to use bond money to repair campus classrooms. Then, because of the district’s financial issues trustees changed their mind, and decided not to make more than $4 million dollars in repairs to reopen the campus. Angry, and upset parents are demanding that the school be repaired, and reopened.
The special school board meeting will begin at 5:30 tonight, at Simi Elementary School.
