The Santa Barbara Museum of Art has received a major donation of more than 70 noteworthy works of art from the estate of a longtime museum supporter.
The gifts from the Robert and Mercedes Eichholz Collection include a Picasso, as well as a number of other significant European paintings.
Robert Eichholz died in 1983. His wife, Mercedes, passed away at the age of 96 last August. The works will become a part of the museum’s permanent collection, with some going on public exhibition later this month.
