Central Coast Conservancy Says It’s Close To Raising Funds To Preserve 900 Acres On Pismo Bluffs

Posted on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 4:24pm

A land conservancy on the Central Coast says it’s trying to close in on the final $2.4 million dollars needed to buy, and preserve a 900 acre ranch on the bluffs above Pismo Beach.

The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County is trying to raise $12 million dollars by August to create what’s being called the Pismo Preserve.

$5.6 million dollars has been committed, and another $4 million is expected to come from the Wildlife Conservation Board.

A number of local government agencies have already made contributions, and some of the largest private donors include $25,000 from the owners of the Pismo Beach Hotel, and Harry’s Pismo Beach, and $20,000 from the Kon Tikki Inn.
