Election Day is officially next Tuesday, but in recent elections, an increasing number of people have been using the vote by mail option.
However, so far vote by mail results on the Central Coast are reported to be slow.
In Santa Barbara County, only about 31,000 of the 121,000 vote by mail ballots sent out have been returned.
In San Luis Obispo County, the percentage is much higher, with around 26,000 of 93,000 ballots mailed out returned.
The overall percentage for the region is about a quarter of the mail in ballots have been cast, and returned to county elections offices.
