Authorities Issue Warning About Man Who Sexually Assaulted Jogger On South Coast

Posted on Friday, May 30, 2014 2:17pm

Authorities have issued a warning about a man who sexually assaulted a jogger in Ventura County.

An 18 year old woman was running near Santa Rosa Road, and Upland Road just after 8 Wednesday night when a man knocked her to the ground, and attacked her.  The woman was eventually able to break away, and escape.

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say the attacker was a white, or Hispanic man in his 30′s, standing 5′ 8″ to 6′, weighing 180 to 200 pounds, with dark jeans, and a dark shirt.  Investigators say he may have a burn mark on his left bicep.

Investigators are urging joggers to run with a partner, and stay in well lit, heavily traveled areas.
