Increased Fire Restrictions Now Take Effect In Los Padres National Forest

Posted on Monday, May 19, 2014 2:10pm

The increased brush, and forest fire danger due to the hot, dry weather we’ve been having means additional fire restrictions are now in effect for the Los Padres National Forest.

Wood and charcoal fires have been banned in all areas of the national forest, except for designated campgrounds.

People with California Campfire permits can use portable stoves, and lanterns using gas, petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel outside of campsites.

Recreational target shooting has been banned, except for those with special use permits.

And, smoking is banned in all areas of the forest, unless you are in an enclosed vehicle, building, or at a designated campground.
