Brush Fire On Fire On Central Coast Now Up To 150 Acres; Structures Threatened

A 150 acre brush fire on the Central Coast, south of Lompoc has prompted evacuations, with reports some structures are being threatened.

The fire was reported at about 1:30 p.m., in the 2500 block of San Miguelito Canyon Road.  The county’s reverse 911 system has been used to order the evacuation of some homes in the area.  The evacuation zone was expanded just before 3 p.m. to include the area from San Miguelito to Olive, and G Streets.  About 150 to 200 homes have been evacuated.

Eight air tankers, and four helicopters are fighting the fire, or have been ordered to help in the firefight.

Hot conditions, and erratic wind is being reported in the area.
