There’s still shock in one Ventura County community, after a jogger was injured when she was chased, knocked down, and bitten by two pit bulls.

It happened at about 5:30 p.m. Friday on the 200 block of South Victoria Avenue.  The 57 year old Ventura woman jogged by a yard when the dogs forced their way through a wooden fence, and attacked her.

She tried to run away, but was knocked down and bitten.  The dogs continued their attack until witnesses, and the dogs owner were able to pull the animals away from the woman.  She was taken to a hospital with what Ventura Police called non-life threatening injuries.  The dogs are in the custody of Ventura County Animal Control.
