Posted on Friday, May 9, 2014 12:47pm

Even as police continue to investigate how more than $20,000 was apparently stolen from a high school band in Ventura County, the community is rallying to try to raise enough money so the teens can go on their planned trip to San Francisco.

Santa Paula Police say they believe about $22,000 was embezzled fro the Santa Paula High School Cardinal Band Booster Club.

No arrests have been reported so far in what’s being called a complicated investigation.

Meanwhile, about $5,000 has been raised so far for the planned trip.

Tomorrow, the band will perform at a 7 p.m. “Save The Tour” concert at the high school.

Tickets may be purchased at the door.
