A city councilman from Ventura County now has a second, even loftier responsibility.
Ventura City Councilman Carl Morehouse was elected as President of the Southern California Association of Governments this week, at the organization’s annual conference near Palm Springs.
The nearly half century old organization helps local governments, and local agencies work together on regional issues, like housing, transportation, and air pollution. It represents six counties, more than 180 cities, and 18 million people.
Morehouse worked as a land use planner for three decades, and is currently serving his fourth term on the Ventura City Council.
