KCLU has been honored by the Radio Television Digital News Association with two of its prestigious Edward R. Murrow awards for excellence in broadcast journalism.
KCLU News won two 2014 RTDNA Region Two Small Market radio awards.
The station was honored for “Best Radio Writing” for “A Flight Through Time,” a look at a visit by a historic World War Two bomber to Ventura County through the eyes of some who help build, and who helped fight for American in the planes.
KCLU also was honored for “Best Radio Sports Reporting” for “Cycle Mania,” gave listeners a taste of the nation’s largest bicycle race as it passed through Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties.
KCLU has now been honored with 25 regional Murrows during the last decade, and one national Edward R. Murrow award.
