San Miguel Island Closed To Public At Least Through End Of Year For Military Ordnance Clearing

One of the Channel Islands is going to be closed to the public for at least the rest of the year.  The Navy is worried San Miguel Island, which was used as a military bombing range for decades, may be peppered with unexploded ordinance.

KCLU’S Lance Orozco talks with Navy, and National Park Service officials to get details of what’s planned to deal with the situation.
