Police found a marijuana processing lab in a very unlikely spot in Oxnard.
Staff members at the Residence Inn Oxnard River Ridge, on the 2000 Block of Vineyard Avenue, noticed some suspicious activity Wednesday afternoon.
They notified Oxnard Police, who found what they say was an active marijuana extraction lab.
It’s a process in which THC is removed from marijuana, and is considered to be dangerous, with the potential for fires and explosions.
Police later found the renter of the room, identified as Julian Berman. The 24 year old man was arrested on a drug manufacturing charge.
Special lab teams from the State Department of Justice, and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department were called in to help remove the lab, which was a process which took eight hours.
