Posted on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 2:55pm

A former aide to a Santa Barbara congresswoman has entered guilty pleas to charges stemming from the DUI hit and run death of a woman.

Raymond Morua reached a plea deal with prosecutors over the death of Mallory Dies.  The 27 year old woman was hit, and fatally injured as she was walking across a crosswalk in downtown Santa Barbara last December 6th.

As a part of the plea deal to the multiple charges, including gross vehicular manslaughter while under the influence, it’s expected Morua will get a 20 years to life sentence.

As a result of the agreement, murder charges were dropped against Morua.

The 32 year old man was an aide to Democratic Congresswoman Lois Capps of Santa Barbara.
