A Central Coast police chief has announced his retirement, after three decades in law enforcement.

Lompoc Police Chief Larry Ralston says he will step down at the end of June, after seven years as the city’s top law enforcement officer.

His career started in los Angeles County in 1983, but he spent nearly two decades with the Santa Maria Police Department.
