Firefighters are on the scene of a hazardous materials spill in Ventura County which may have occurred intentionally.
People arriving at the YMCA complex on the 3100 block of Village of the Park Drive around seven this morning noticed a strong chemical spill.
They notified YMCA officials, who found that a 55 gallon barrel of chlorine, and a 55 gallon barrel of acid both used for pool maintenance had been knocked over, and were leaking.
No injuries were reported.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department is handling the investigation into what led to the spill.
