A new feature film about the story of farm labor leader, and civil rights worker Cesar Chavez is getting some VIP screening in Ventura county, which was of course apart of the farm workers rights movement.
There will be a march from the United Farm Workers offices in Oxnard tonight to the Plaza Cinemas, in downtown Oxnard for a screening of “Cesar Chavez.” Tomorrow, the union will host screenings of the film for hundreds of children in Oxnard. And, on Sunday, there will be a commemorative rally in downtown Oxnard, followed by a march to the downtown movie theaters, where the film will be shown on four screens.
March 31st marks the birthday of the leader, who would have been 87 years old. He died in 1993.
