Posted on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 2:27pm

U.S. Border Patrol agents say they’ve arrested a dangerous Central Coast gang member as he was trying to sneak into the U.S. from Mexico.

Agents say they took Luis Miguel Maya-Barriga into dustody at around 10 last night, near the Calexico Port of Entry.  They say the 32 year old Mexican national is a part of the “Surenos 13″ street gang in Santa Maria.

Maya-Barriga has a long criminal history, and was deported from the U.S. in November of 2005.  Border Patrol officials say he will be criminally prosecuted for trying to enter the U.S. after being removed from the country.
