Warrning Issues After Counterfeit $100 Bills Turn Up In Ventura County

Posted on Monday, March 24, 2014 4:06pm

Beware of someone flashing big bills.

That’s the warning going out from authorities in eastern Ventura County, where a number of counterfeit $100 dollar bills have turned up in the last few days.  Several merchants in the Simi Valley area took in phony bills during the last few days, and did even realize the bad news until they made deposits at local banks.

Simi Valley Police are warning merchants in the region to beware of $50, and $100 dollar bills, suggesting managers go to the U.S. Secret Service website to get tips on detecting counterfeit bills.
