Los Padres National Forest Easing Fire Restrictions Due To Recent Rain

Posted on Friday, March 14, 2014 1:52pm

We’re still in a drought, but Los Padres National Forest officials say recent rainfall has eased the wildfire danger enough that they are lifting some fire restrictions.

Campfires, and charcoal barbeques will be allowed in all areas of the forest, but you will still have to have a California Campfire permit to build a campfire outside of designated sites.  Limitations on smoking, and target shooting are also being lifted.

Forest Service officials say unless there is significant rainfall during the next two months, the restrictions will go back into effect in May.
