Central Coast Woman Sentenced To More Than Four Years Behind Bars For Stealing From Employer

Posted on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 3:50pm

A Central Coast woman has been sentenced to more than four years in prison, after she entered guilty pleas to charges she stole tens of thousands of dollars from two Santa Ynez Valley property management companies.

Santa Barbara County prosecutors say Gina Vrastil was working for the two companies, and over a nearly year long period, wrote a number of unauthorized checks.  They say she then doctored the books to try to hide the thefts.

The 50 year old woman faced up to nine years behind bars, but received a lesser sentence after entering guilty pleas to 16 felony counts, ranging from check forgery to perjury.
