Oxnard Beefs Up Patrols In Response To Spike In Violent Crime

Posted on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 4:14pm

In the wake of a murder, and several other violent crimes in the last week, Oxnard Police say they are deploying extra patrol officers, and a mobile command post to improve the police presence in impacted neighborhoods.

On Friday night, a 26 year old man was shot to death near Canterbury Way, and Courtland Street in Oxnard.  Authorities still aren’t identifying the victim.

Police aren’t saying whether they think the killing was gang related, but gang related enforcement efforts are being stepped up, with the delivery of a number of search warrants.
