A South Coast community is looking at the possibility of developing a civic center, and will host some community meetings on the idea this week.
The City of Goleta is considering the future of the Goleta Valley Community Center. Among the ideas being discussed is moving City Hall to the site, by modifying the existing complex, or building a new one. Other suggestions range from adding a branch library to a police station to the site, which is on the 5600 block of Hollister Avenue.
The City will host a pair of community meetings to get ideas from the public. The first is at 2:30 p.m., and the second at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, with both sessions taking place at the Goleta Valley Community Center.
