How should the 500 miles of trails in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area be developed, and managed?
That’s the focus of a pair of public meetings this week.
The park is creating an interagency trail management plan.
The trails cross multiple jurisdictions, so the idea is to develop a joint plan looking at environmental, access and other issues.
The first meeting is at 6:30 Thursday night, at the King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas.
The second meeting will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Temescal Gateway Park, in Pacific Palisades.
