A huge controversy over whether a rural Ventura County neighborhood is an appropriate home for a facility to house tigers is still unsettled, despite a big public hearing.
The applicants for the project say they have a long, and perfect safety record with tigers, and the project’s safety measures go far beyond what’s required.
But, many neighborhood residents think it’s a terrible idea, and fear the danger one of the big cats would pose if it escaped.
Hundreds of people were on hand at yesterday’s Ventura County Planning Commission hearing to weigh in on the dispute.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco has the story.
