Ventura County Man To Speak About His Book About His Mother, Who Was U.S. Space Program Pioneer

Posted on Monday, February 3, 2014 12:35am

For decades, a Ventura County man thought of his mom as…mom.

But, what he didn’t realize until after her death is that she was America’s first female rocket scientist, a woman who played a key role of the first successful launch of a U.S. satellite into orbit.

Now, George Morgan has written a book telling his mother’s story.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks to Morgan, who’s going to make a local appearance this week to talk about the book, which is called “Rocket Girl: America’s First Female Rocket Scientist.”
