For decades, a Ventura County man thought of his mom as…mom.
But, what he didn’t realize until after her death is that she was America’s first female rocket scientist, a woman who played a key role of the first successful launch of a U.S. satellite into orbit.
Now, George Morgan has written a book telling his mother’s story.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks to Morgan, who’s going to make a local appearance this week to talk about the book, which is called “Rocket Girl: America’s First Female Rocket Scientist.”
