If you live in a city, and have a sidewalk in front of your home, the there’s a chance that the city may be responsible for repairing it.
But, if you live in unincorporated parts of Ventura, or Santa Barbara Counties, you could arrive home one day to find a notice in your mailbox to fix a damaged sidewalk, at your expense.
Yesterday, Ventura County Supervisors looked at a proposal to use some unexpected tax dollars to pick up some, or all of the tab for sidewalk repairs.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports it led to a lively debate…but, no change in policy.
