A sting operation has busted 14 businesses in San Luis Obispo County for selling tobacco products to teens.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department, and the County Health Agency’s Tobacco Control Program conducted the operation.
Underaged decoys were used to try to buy tobacco products at stores in some unincorporated areas of the county.
54 locations were visited countywide, with clerks at 40 of them refusing sales to the decoys.
The sting operation targeted stores in Nipomo, Oceano, Avila Beach, Cayucos, Cambria, and Santa Margarita.
