South Coast Assemblyman Introduces Bill To Try To Protect Privacy Of Covered California Clients

Posted on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 12:42am

A State Assemblyman from the South Coast has introduced legislation to try to protect the privacy of people who ask for health insurance information through the Covered California agency.

Republican State Assemblyman Jeff Gorell of Camarillo says he introduced AB 1560 because of news that Covered California shared personal information from people inquiring about health insurance with insurance telemarketers.

The legislation would require Covered California to keep personal information from the public private unless getting permission to release it.
