At least one, and possibly both of the men who were on board a light plane which crashed off the Central Coast this week were members of a Ventura County based aviation group.
The light plane crashed into the ocean just after 2 p.m. Tuesday, off of Oceano.
There were no survivors. There’s no word on where the plane was headed.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies say they identified David Casey as one of the men on board, after finding his wallet.
Authorities think they know who the second person on board the plane was, but haven’t confirmed it.
Casey was a member of the Camarillo based Commemorative Air Force, a non-profit group which restores, and flies historic military aircraft.
