A historic Central Coast restaurant hit by fire last month is reopening to the public for the first time tonight since the blaze.
The Far Western Tavern in Orcutt had a kitchen fire December 29th.
No one was hurt, and the fire was quickly contained, but the blaze caused enough damage that the restaurant had to cancel its traditional New Year’s Eve dinner, and remain closed for the last several days for repairs.
The bar is open tonight with a limited menu, and plans call for the restaurant to be back in full operation tomorrow.
The restaurant is more than a half century old, but was located in Guadalupe for decades before moving to Orcutt in 2012.
