A Santa Barbara County man who turned in his cell phone for an upgrade has been arrested for possession of obscene matter, after police say a technician refurbishing the i-Phone found photos of a young boy engaged in sexual acts on it.
The employee at a downtown Santa Barbara company followed company protocol, and called police. Detectives obtained a search warrant, and say they found child pornography on the phone.
It led to another warrant, and a search of the home of the phone’s former’s owner, identified by police as Salvador Gallegos Munoz of Buellton. Investigators say a search of the 34 year old man’s computer turned up thousands of images of child pornography, which they say Munoz admitted to collecting during the last several years.
