A shopping center has made a $625,000 commitment to help fund public safety efforts in the City of Goleta.
The Camino Real Marketplace says it’s making the pledge to help insure that the city has the resources it needs to keep the community safe.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, which has a contact to operate the Goleta Police Department, has a station in space donated by the shopping center. The station is used by patrol deputies, and houses some programs, like the Community Services Bureau, and the DARE program.
The $625,000 will be given to the city over the next five years.
