New figures released by Covered California show that more than 5200 Tri-Counties residents have secured health care insurance through its efforts as a part of the Affordable Care Act.
From October 1st through November 30th, 5243 people in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties made it through the process.
About 4500 of than were eligible for subsidies.
An estimated 200,000 people in the region are eligible for insurance through Covered California.
Officials say despite the low enrollment numbers so far, 644,000 new people visited the Covered California website in the last week, and 105,000 called for assistance.
But, the response in many cases is still slow, with the average phone wait time for service around a half hour.
