It’s become a feared crime in this high-tech age.
We worry that someone will hack into our accounts, stealing our personal information, and maybe our money.
But…an event at UC Santa Barbara not only encouraged hacking…it sponsored it.
UCSB hosted what’s billed as the world’s largest computer hacking competition, with more than 100 teams, and 1300 people taking part around the globe.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports it’s a way for some of the world’s next generation of cyber cops to hone their skills.
