Ventura County Firefighters Deal With High Wind In Battling Brush Fire Near Moorpark

A brush fire burning in a remote area outside of Moorpark is now 40% contained.

The fire was reported just after 2 a.m., north of the 118 Freeway between Moorpark College, and the Rustic Canyon Golf Course.  Wind gusts of 20 to 30 miles an hour quickly moved the fire through some light brush in the area, but the biggest problem now is a part of the fire in a eucalyptus grove.

More than 100 firefighters are battling the approximately 50 acre blaze.  No structures have been damaged, and none are currently considered to be threatened

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
